How we handle your personal data

Skilled Search Academy ("we", "us", "our") operates skilledsearchacademy.com. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you enquire or enrol, how we use it, and the choices you have. We are based in Colombo, Sri Lanka, and handle personal data in line with Sri Lanka's Personal Data Protection Act No. 9 of 2022.

What we collect

When you submit the enrolment form we collect the details you provide: full name, email address, phone number, highest qualification, the programme you select, and your consent to be contacted. We also automatically collect limited technical data through cookies and similar technologies, including your IP address, browser/user agent, and Meta advertising identifiers.

How we use your data

  • To respond to your enrolment enquiry and contact you about your application, by email and phone.
  • To administer admissions and tell you about the programme you chose.
  • To measure and improve our advertising (see below).

Legal basis: your consent, given when you tick the consent box and submit the form. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing us.

Where your data is stored

Enrolment submissions are recorded in a private spreadsheet accessible only to our admissions team. We do not sell your personal data.

Cookies and advertising (Meta Pixel and Conversions API)

We use the Meta Pixel and Meta's Conversions API to understand how our ads perform and to reach people likely to be interested in our programmes. As part of this:

  • Cookies such as _fbp and _fbc may be set in your browser.
  • When you submit an enrolment, we share certain details with Meta Platforms, Inc. in a hashed (irreversible) form, including your email, phone number and name, together with technical data (IP derived, user agent, Meta cookie IDs). Hashing means Meta receives a scrambled value, not your raw details, used only to match the event to a Facebook or Instagram account for ad measurement and audiences.
  • Meta acts as an independent controller for this data under its own terms. See Meta's Privacy Policy at facebook.com/privacy/policy.

If you do not want this, you can decline non-essential cookies, use your browser's privacy controls, or adjust your Facebook ad preferences.

Data retention

We keep enrolment enquiry data only as long as needed to follow up and for our legitimate record keeping, after which it is deleted.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and you may withdraw consent at any time. Email info@skilledsearchacademy.com and we will respond within a reasonable period.

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above shows the latest revision.
